Welcome to the SlashStack Guestbook ("we", "our", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our guestbook service hosted at guestbook.slashstack.app.

2. Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive and store the following information:

Display Name — shown alongside your messages
Profile Photo URL — displayed as your avatar
Email Address — used for authentication only
Google User ID — used to identify your account securely

When you post a message, we store:

Your message text (max 250 characters)
Your display name and user ID
The timestamp of your post

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

Authenticate your identity via Google Sign-In
Display your name alongside your guestbook messages
Enforce rate-limiting (one message per 5 seconds)

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to any third parties.

4. Data Storage

All data is stored securely in Google Firebase Realtime Database, hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Firebase complies with major security certifications including SOC 1, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.

5. Data Retention

Guestbook messages are stored indefinitely. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

6. Cookies

We use Firebase Authentication which may store session tokens in your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request access to your personal data
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw consent by signing out and revoking app access via your Google Account settings
